Call for Papers : 3rd ReCALIS


We cordially invite you to submit a paper/abstract/poster to the 3rd PLAI-STRLC Research Congress for the Advancement of Library and Information Services (ReCALIS 2018), tentatively set for October 2018. These could be accounts of original research, unique viewpoints, case studies, trend analyses, etc.

Important Dates:

June 2018 -- Call for Paper/abstract
July 2018 -- Notification of Acceptance
30 Aug 2018 -- Closing date for submission of conference paper and presentation

PR-BFL Resolution no. 1 s. 2018 : Certificate of Good Standing

The Professional Regulatory - Board for Librarians (PR-BFL) issued Resolution No. 1 series of 2018, requiring the submission of a Certificate of Good Standing for the renewal of the PRC ID. The COGS can be secured from the PLAI-Regional Councils where you are registered as a member in good standing.

A member is considered in good standing if the annual dues for the last 3 years are duly paid to the Association via their respective RC or paid/remitted to any other RC or paid in the PLAI National Headquarters office located at NLP (National Library of the Philippines).

Mila M. Ramos -- CONSAL Outstanding Librarian 2018

Our STRLC colleague, Mrs Mila Medina Ramos, PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2017 was adjudged as the Outstanding Librarian (Gold) Awardee during the Closing Ceremony of CONSAL XVII Congress with the theme : "Next Generation Libraries : Collaborate and Connect" held at Naypyitaw, Myanmar,  2-5 May 2018.

Congress of Southeast Asia Librarians (CONSAL) is the sole regional organization of the libraries, library schools, Library Associations, and related institutions of the ASEAN countries. It was founded in Singapore in 1970 and has ten members which include the library associations and librarians of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

CONSAL holds a general conference every three years in each member country by turn and promotes cooperation among librarians in Southeast Asia Region. CONSAL provides the forum for the librarians and information specialists to strengthen networks, partnerships, and linkages with each other; promotes coordination, collaboration, and provides the platform for sharing and exchange of information and experiences on issues in the fields of librarianship, library and information sciences, documentation, information and related activities in the region.
