The Southern Tagalog Region Librarians Council (STRLC) cordially invites you to its Conference and General Assembly on September 25 and 26, 2006 at the Capuchin Retreat Center, Barangay San Sebastian, Lipa City, Batangas.
The conference has placed "Information Literacy" at the heart of its programme with the theme, “Regional Conference on Promoting Information Literacy for Lifelong Learning.” It aims to bring lifelong learning back onto the agenda of library and information services and to provide an avenue to exchange ideas or address the challenges in providing lifelong learning opportunities for all and in designing information literacy programs for the 21st century.
The topics include: Information Literacy: the 21st Century Skills; The Role of Libraries and Librarians in Information Literacy; Information Literacy and the Role of Public Libraries; Information Literacy Best Practices, Models and Studies; and Workshop on Developing a Client-Centered Information Literacy Program from Grade 1 to Post-Graduate Studies.
The conference fees are as follows: Live – out: PHP 2300.00 for member; PhP2600.00 for non-member; (to include lunches/snacks, conference kits and certificate); Live-in: PhP2600.00 for member; PhP 2900.00 for non-member (to include overnight accommodation, with breakfast/dinner, in addition to seminar meals). Accompanying person: PhP 2200.00.
