Elected officers of Oriental/Occidental Mindoro Librarians Association (OMLA) were inducted to office last June 4, 2008 during the DepEd Library Hub Orientation workshop held at Department of Education, Region IV-MIMAROPA Division of Calapan City, Adriatico Memorial School, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The officers were inducted into office by the PLAI-STRLC Vice-Chair Audrey G. Anday on behalf of the PLAI-STRLC Chair Marcial R. Batiancila. Also present during the induction was PLAI-STRLC Secretary Rene B. Manlangit who documented the event.
A short meeting cum "get-together" was held after the induction at the Jimwel Restaurant with the OMLA officers and PLAI-STRLC officers who were present that day. It was a fruitful discussion that provided a venue to thresh out some of the initial difficulties and clarifications of duties, responsibilities and obligations that were encountered by the young association.
OMLA was formally organized in 20 April 2007 and became the 5th Provincial Chapter Member of the PLAI-STRLC.
