Celebrate November!

Library and Information Service Month - by virtue of Presidential Proclamation no. 837 s.1991 signed by President Corazon Aquino declaring the month of November 1991 and every year thereafter as "Library and Information Services Month".


National Reading Month - by virtue of DepEd memo no. 244 s.2011 issued by DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro declaring November as National Reading Month of every year and November 25, 2011 as the nationwide Araw ng Pagbasa.



National Book Week - by virtue of Presidential Proclamation no. 109 s.1936 signed by President Manuel Quezon designation the period from November 24 to 30 each year as NBW.



Araw ng Pagbasa by virtue of Republic Act no. 10556  signed by President Benigno Aquino last May 15, 2013 declaring 27th of November as Araw ng Pagbasa

SEC. 4. Implementing Agency. – The Department of Education, in consultation with the National Book Development Board, other government agencies and units, and reading associations concerned, shall plan and implement activities for the observance of “Araw ng Pagbasa”, such as story-telling sessions and reading skills modules. In addition to Filipino and English, the use of regional languages in the celebration shall be encouraged.
Note: Library/Librarians association not included in the enumeration of implementing agencies to be consulted in implementing this law. An oversight?

National Rice Awareness Month pursuant to Presidential Proclamation no. 524 s.2004 and 2015 theme of the celebration "Be RICEponsible in your own way now (BROWN) 4 good"

Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week pursuant to Presidential Proclamation no. 124 s. 2001 declaring the 3rd Week of November of Every Year as DAPCW

November 30 is Bonifacio Day.
