2016 International Archives Congress

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga and the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon (ATOCEL), Inc., will be holding the 2016 International Archives Congress on November 08 to 10, 2016 in Clark Freeport, Pampanga.

In the previous iterations of the Congress, the NCCA has invited country archival experts to discuss practices, issues, and concerns in the field within national and local contexts. This year, with the theme “Archives in the ASEAN”, the Congress will gather archivists, registrars, record managers/officers, librarians, faculty, office secretaries, and members of professional associations on archives nationwide and from around the ASEAN to share the best practices on archival management in the region. The NCCA has seen the opportunity for the audience to leverage their current practices in line with global and international benchmarks, and to foster international cooperation in this endeavour.

The Congress will have a combination of lectures, and workshops from different leaders in the archival practice from the countries in the ASEAN region. There will be exhibitions, as well, and a whole-day heritage tour to wrap-up the event.

A registration fee of Five Thousand Pesos (PhP 5,000.00) for local participants or One Hundred Fifty US Dollars (USD 150.00) shall be charged to live-in participants based on quadruple sharing which will cover for food, accommodation for three (3) days and two (2) nights, free whole-day heritage tour, and conference materials/kit. Meanwhile, a registration fee of Three Thousand Pesos (PhP 3,000.00) shall be charged to live-out participants, which will cover the expenses for food, whole day heritage tour, and workshop materials/kit. Foreign participants are expected to attend the Congress as live-in participants only. Online registration may be done by filling out the form found on this link: http://bit.ly/2016IACreg.
