ALLPI : OCLC Demo at Malayan Colleges Laguna

You are cordially invited to attend the OCLC event at Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL), Center for Learning and Information Resources [CLIR] and register to become an active member of ALLPI – Association of Librarians in Laguna Province, Inc. on December 10, 2014, Tuesday, sponsored by MEGATEXT Phils. The Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, at the Multi-Media Section of CLIR.

Admission to the event is free, but we encourage participants to register and become an active member of ALLPI for a fee of P 100.00. Your FULL SUPPORT is truly something we look forward to.

Poster Report: Association of Librarians in Laguna Province, Inc.

The provincial chapter report is a portion in the PLAI-STRLC President Report of Ms Rose Villamater highlighting the cascading of activities from the region to the provincial level.

Greetings of Peace!

The Association of Librarians In Laguna Province, Inc. (ALLPI) will be having a conference on March 13-15, 2014, entitled “Outcomes Based Education (OBE) in Libraries”. It will be held at Faith Village, New Life Conference Center, Sitio Ambulong, Manoc-manoc, Boracay Island.

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

       (1) To define OBE

      (2) To understand the two education paradigm – inputs based and outcomes based

      (3) To recognize the role and importance of OBE in the library and to its Institution as well

       (4) To identify the impact of OBE in the library services

In view of the significance of this conference, we are inviting your librarians and library staff to participate in this activity. School administrators and/ or representatives particularly those concerned with Outcomes Based Education are also invited.

General Assembly and election of new set of officers will follow right after the conference.

A conference fee of P 3, 900.00 will have the following inclusion:

• Registration fee, conference kit and certificate
• 3D/2N Accommodation [1 Fellowship]
• Dormitory type room (air-condition w/ hot and cold shower)
• Complete meals from March 13-14 and free breakfast on the 15th

Since our date is a peak season, we suggest using 2GO, a big air-condition vessel from Batangas to Caticlan instead of airplane. The transportation cost of 2GO is only P 2,000.00. We only have 50 slots for the said convention center so we encourage the participants to register as early as possible.

ALLPI Forum on November 16, 2012

Greetings of Peace!

The Association of Librarians In Laguna Province, Inc. (ALLPI) will be having a Forum on November 16, 2012 [Friday], entitled “Traditional and Technological Challenges towards Reference Service”. It will be held at the Center for Learning and Information Resources (CLIR) of Malayan College Laguna, Pulo Diezmo Road, Cabuyao Laguna from 7:00 a.m. -12:00 noon.

The objectives of the forum are as follows: (1) help the Reference Librarians, Library Staff and BLIS students in the efficient and effective ways of delivering reference service; (2) provide better understanding on reference service through sharing of actual experiences, current methods, strategies, trends and issues in reference service; and (3) reflect on Librarians’ Code of Ethics with emphasis on work values and behavior in reference service.

A forum fee of Three Hundred Fifty pesos (Php 350.00) will cover the certificates and snacks. Registration starts at 7:00am at the venue.
