1st PATLS LIS Research Summit

PATLS is pleased to announce the conduct of the 1st PATLS Library and Information Science (LIS) Research Summit with the theme “State of LIS Research in the Philippines.” It will be held on 26-27 March 2015 at Columban College Hotel and Resort at Rizal Ext. Bo. Barretto, Olongapo City.
As part of PATLS Golden Anniversary with the theme PATLS: 50 Years of Service to a Century of Philippine LIS Education, PATLS aims to emphasize the importance of research and scholarship to the advancement of librarianship and information science. The 1st PATLS Library and Information Science (LIS) Research Summit is a two-day inaugural conference of the annual LIS research gathering / conference in the Philippines. It aims to examine the state of LIS research in the Philippines and develop strategies that may aid its development; to develop and propose a national LIS research agenda for the Philippines; to share best practices and innovative approaches to LIS research, and tackle issues and concerns that are hindrances to LIS research in the Philippines; and to promote the culture of research as a pillar for sustainability and development of libraries and librarianship.
The summit fee is:
- P2,700.00 for PATLS members (live-in/live-out participants, kindly present PATLS membership receipt / renew membership for 2015);
- P3,000.00 for PATLS non-members (live-in/live-out participants); and
- P2,000.00 for undergraduate students (live-in/live-out participants, kindly present valid student school ID).
The fee includes accommodation from March 26, 7AM to March 27, 5PM; registration fee; meals – AM & PM snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner, instructional materials; seminar kit; certificate; and other expenses. Payment may be made in cash only.
