“Library at its Best: Marketing and Promotion That Works”

The Rizal Librarians Association would hold a forum on "Library at its Best: Marketing and Promotion that Works" on June 25, 2010 at the Learning Resource Center, San Beda College - Rizal (Taytay) Campus from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The resource speaker is Dr. Maria Victoria C. Ac-Ac.

The objectives of the forum are:

1) Gain knowledge in the different strategies for the promotion of library resources;
2) Instill the importance of promotional campaign to clientele; and
3) Develop a marketing and promotion plan for the effective use of the library.

The forum fee is Php350 to cover snacks, lunch and certificate of attendance.

Creation of Rizal Librarians Association

Last May 17, 2008, around 30 Rizal librarians and library staff attended an organizational meeting with Rev. Fr. Paul M. De Vera, Bro. Vidal E. Santos and PLAI-STRLC Chair Marcial R. Batiancila to discuss the possibility of organizing the Rizal Librarians Association and become the 6th Provincial Chapter Member of PLAI-STRLC.

The program started at 8am with the welcome remarks from Bro Vidal Santos followed by the presentation of PLAI-STRLC Chair Marcial R. Batiancila wherein he discussed a little of PLAI-STRLC historical accounts and some guidelines in creating the Provincial Chapter. It has been a dream of the 2008 set of STRLC officers to connect with Rizal librarians after the successful organization of CLASS, QLA, ALL, LAB, and MLA. After some clarifications and discussions, all present during the occasion agreed to organize the Rizal Librarians Association and elected its first set of officers.

ABC's of Librarian's Success in the Workplace

The Rizal librarians have scheduled an organizational meeting with forum on Saturday, May 17, 2008, 8am - 5pm at the IMC, Siena College Taytay (E. Rodriquez Avenue, Taytay, Rizal). The morning session would be devoted to the organizational meeting and election of Rizal Librarians Association officers to be followed by the Forum on the "the ABC's of Librarian' Success in the Workplace" with Fr. Paul M. de Vera as Resource Speaker in the afternoon.

The forum is open to all librarians and information professionals in the Province of Rizal*.

Registration fee is PHP 250.00 per participant. It will cover the cost of two snacks, lunch and the certificate.
