The U.P. Library Science Alumni Association (UPLSAA),
in cooperation with Primetrade Asia Inc.
and in celebration of the 34rd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF)
will be holding a seminar-workshop entitled:
The Librarian as a Systems Thinker in the Emerging Future
facilitated by Ms. Fides Manuel-Abad of the Organizational Change Consultants International, Inc. (OCCI)
The event will provide an overview of Systems Thinking in the library and information center setting. Developed by Peter Senge, American scientist and director of the Center for Organizational Learning at the MIT Sloan School of Management, Systems Thinking provides a novel way of viewing the world, and on a more specific scale, the organizations we belong to. This seminar-workshop, with the use of entertaining and educational exercises, aims to demonstrate how seemingly incremental changes coupled with simple shifts in perspectives can help us achieve better and more efficient results.
This lecture will be held on 12 September 2013, 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at Meeting Rooms 4 & 5 of the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. Registration fee is PhP 200 inclusive of materials and certificate.
