Call for Nominations : PAARL Awards

You can help PAARL choose among the best nominees by submitting your own nominations to the 2016 PAARL Awards. Deadline is 30 November 2016.

For Outstanding Academic Librarian Award, nominee should have demonstrated achievements in the following areas:
1-Planning and implementing an innovative or a high-impact library program for an academic/research library
2-Significant and influential research on academic or research library service
3-Service to the organized profession through PAARL and other related organizations

For Outstanding Library of the Year, nominee should have the following qualifications:
1- exemplary contribution to academic and research librarianship
2- outstanding leadership in national/regional library development in the areas of library management, education and training, information and documentation services, etc.
3- commitment to information networking and linkages
4- commitment to PAARL’s objectives as demonstrated by its continued support and cooperation in PAARL’s activities and undertakings

For the Outstanding Library Program Award, the library program must have a strong impact on the library community, be innovative, sustainable and may be replicated to other library communities, or institutions. A plaque of recognition and a cash award of P 10,000 is given during the Annual Assembly for the Outstanding Library and the same for the Outstanding Library Program, while the cash gifts given to the Outstanding Academic Librarians amount to P15,000 (5k for each region).

Recognizing Best Researches

PAARL invites you to its 5th Marina G. Dayrit Lecture Series with the theme Recognizing Best Researches: a Colloquium on Philippine Libraries and Librarianship on November 29, 2016, 1:00 p.m., at the National University, M. F. Jhocson St., Sampaloc, Manila. This year's concluding lecture is a colloquium highlighting the top research outputs accepted for publication in the 2016 issue of the PAARL Research Journal. Authors of said papers shall present and disseminate the results of their works. Pre-registration is required as seats are limited to only 90.

24th National Children's Month


Pursuant to Republic Act no. 10661 "An Act Declaring the Month of November of Every Year as the National Children's Month", this year 24th celebration theme is "Isulong : Kalidad na Edukasyon Para sa Lahat ng Bata". Previously, NCM is celebrated in October of every year pursuant to Presidential Proclamation no. 267 s.1993.
