Call for Papers: 1st ASEAN Regional Conference of Public Librarians
The main objective of this regional conference is to provide a venue for learning and appreciation of the ASEAN libraries, arts, and culture as well as, their inspiring stories, initiatives, innovations, and collaborations.
Specifically, this conference aims to:
Nurture deeper understanding among ASEAN librarians to fit in our mission and vision along with our library objectives, programs and activities;
Develop partnerships and collaborations with the leading international library organizations to become updated of their advocacies, librarianship trends including available library opportunities worldwide;
Showcase libraries in ASEAN for deeper appreciation of our work and our profession; and
Foster a sense of community among public librarians in the ASEAN region.

Authors are kindly invited to submit their papers / posters / demo proposals per schedule below:
Paper Submission Due: September 30, 2019
Acceptance Notification: October 11, 2019
Author Registration: November 15, 2019
Final Submission: November 29, 2019
Conference Dates: March 10-13, 2020

Submission Guidelines
Papers are accepted either through the online submission tool or email at publiclibraries@nlp.gov.ph. For those unable to use the Online System and are emailing, please include a cover letter with author details, university or country information, and any other author related data.
.docx/.pdf file formats are accepted
Do not include author details, university or country information in the manuscript. This is a double-blind peer review process. Author information should be supplied using the manuscript submission form online or in the cover letter for email submissions.
Please ensure all articles are proofread and checked for accuracy prior to submission. Changes cannot be made during the review process. If accepted, minor revisions may be made prior to final submission.
Formatting Guidelines
Papers must be in English maximum of 20 pages in conference paper format
Paper content must be original and relevant to one of the many conference topics.
Authors are required to ensure accuracy of quotations, citations, diagrams, maps, and tables.
Figures and tables need to be placed where they are to appear in the text and must be clear and easy to view.
Papers must follow format according to the downloadable Word template.
Thirty (30) minutes will be allowed for the delivery of the paper in the Conference (followed by Fifteen (15) minutes open forum discussions); the full written paper is not to be read.
Review Process
The review process will be double-blind. Therefore, please anonymize your submission. This means that all submissions must contain no information identifying the author(s) or their organization(s): Do not put the author(s) names or affiliation(s) at the start of the paper, anonymize citations to and mentions of your own prior work that are directly related to your present work, and do not include funding or other acknowledgments.
Each paper will be reviewed by at least three RCPL Committee members or two Chairpersons. The acceptance decisions will take into account paper novelty, elegance, practical or theoretical impact, and presentation.
Original: the paper explores a new idea, project or issue; discusses existing research with promise of new insight, discusses new research; or presents new ways of considering existing information
Engaging: presentation format will involve the audience in some way, or has high potential to attract conference attendees by addressing the needs of the community
Significant: the paper raises and discusses issues important to improving the effectiveness and/or sustainability of public libraries
Quality: claims are supported by sufficient data; claims draw upon relevant literature; and limitations are described honestly.
Relevant: the paper addresses one or more of the themes of the conference
Post Conference Publication
1st ASEAN RCPL proceedings will be published in the National Library of the Philippines, National Library of Malaysia, and sponsors’ websites:

INNOVATE. New methods and ideas in providing products and services of the library.
