NOCEI Training-Workshop on RDA

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings!

The Network of CALABARZON Educational Institutions, Inc. (NOCEI) will be having a two day training-workshop on April 29-30, 2015 entitled “Seminar-Workshop on RDA Policy Adaptation. It will be held at First Asia Institute of Technology & Humanities (FAITH), Tanauan, Batangas.

RDA is an important building block in the creation of better catalogues and resource discovery systems. It provides for the creation of metadata which meets users' needs for data content and also facilitates machine manipulation of that data for searching and display. The specific objectives are as follows:

1. Address the learning or knowledge gap on the new cataloging standard;

2. Enable participants to develop a working knowledge on RDA standard for Philippine libraries and information centers; and

3. Creation of task force/working group on the implementation of the RDA standard among NOCEI member institutions.

We are inviting your librarians, library staff, or any representative from your institution to participate in this activity.
