NOCEI Training-Workshop on RDA
Dear Colleagues,Greetings!
The Network of CALABARZON Educational Institutions, Inc. (NOCEI) will be having a two day training-workshop on April 29-30, 2015 entitled “Seminar-Workshop on RDA Policy Adaptation. It will be held at First Asia Institute of Technology & Humanities (FAITH), Tanauan, Batangas.
RDA is an important building block in the creation of better catalogues and resource discovery systems. It provides for the creation of metadata which meets users' needs for data content and also facilitates machine manipulation of that data for searching and display. Recently, PAARL has published the RDA Policy Statement and Guidelines for Philippine Libraries, thus, the principal aim of this 2-days training workshop is geared towards full implementation of RDA Standards for Philippine Libraries and Information Centers among institutions.
The specific objectives are as follows:
1. Address the learning or knowledge gap on the new cataloging standard;
2. Enable participants to develop a working knowledge on RDA standard for Philippine libraries and information centers; and
3. Creation of task force/working group on the implementation of the RDA standard among NOCEI member institutions.
We are inviting your librarians, library staff, or any representative from your institution to participate in this activity.
The following registration fee shall be charged participants:
Live in : 1,800.00 (kit, meals from April 29 snacks-April 30 snacks, accommodation and other administrative expenses)
Live-out : 1,500.00 (kit, April 29-30 am/pm snacks & lunch & other administrative expenses)

The Network of CALABARZON Educational Institution (NOCEI) through its Library and Information Services Committee will be holding a 1 day seminar-workshop with the theme “Research Tools 2.0: Opportunities & Challenges in Library and Information Services” on April 17, 2012 at M301 St. Martin de Porres Bldg., Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba, Calamba City, Laguna.
The seminar-workshop aimed to retool library and information professionals on the current research tools and in expanding the library’s research role by developing new programs and services, thereby, creating a more research-centric information services. The topics include: 1) SDI in a Web-based Environment; 2) Developing Research Pathfinders; and 3) Online Research Tutorials.

NOCEI Forum on Library Marketing & Promotion
Dear Colleagues:
The Network of CALABARZON Educational Institutions (NOCEI), a non-stock, non-profit corporation which aims to promote cooperation and collaboration among private and public educational institutions in the Philippine provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon will be holding a Forum on Library Marketing and Promotion: Public Relations Strategies through its Library Committee on January 21, 2010 at second floor of the Main Library of University of Batangas, Hilltop, Batangas City.
The forum aims to equip the participants on the basic marketing concepts and knowledge on how to promote the services and collection of the library through different strategies and techniques in public relations. Prof. Roel Ramirez former President of Public Relations Society of the Philippines will be the main resource person.
