Mila M. Ramos -- CONSAL Outstanding Librarian 2018
Our STRLC colleague, Mrs Mila Medina Ramos, PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2017 was adjudged as the Outstanding Librarian (Gold) Awardee during the Closing Ceremony of CONSAL XVII Congress with the theme : "Next Generation Libraries : Collaborate and Connect" held at Naypyitaw, Myanmar, 2-5 May 2018.

Mila Medina Ramos - PRC 2017 Outstanding Librarian
For her distinguished contribution in the field of librarianship as demonstrated by her exemplary service to her profession through sharing of her expertise as resource speaker in local and international fora and providing free on-the-job training to local and foreign librarians; for her strong commitment and professionalism having served as member of the Board for Librarians and conducting reviews for takers of the Librarians Licensure Examination; for promoting the library profession through her book, essays and lectures and updating of Philippine Standards for Special Libraries; for her participation in national committees for framing cataloguing standards and librarians' competencies;
For steering the International Rice Research library into one of the model libraries in the Philippines and for pioneering the creation of PhilAgriNet, and assuming a major role in the formation of the CGIAR Libraries and Information Services Consortium; for heading the ALAP as its President who engineered IRRI's membership in the Agricultural Networks Information Collaborative (AgNIC) and took the initiative in conducting Librarian-related researches;
For her competence, excellence, and commendable track record that earned for her various awards and recognition such as the Oustanding Librarian Award (ALAP, 2005), Outstanding Academic/Research Librarian Award 2005 (PAARL, 2006), CGIAR Science Award (CGIAR, 2006), PLAI-STRLC Most Distinguished Librarian Award (2009) that served as a testament of her outstanding career.

PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2013 : Nora Fe V. Alajar
PLAI-STRLC wishes to congratulate Ms Nora Fe "Bing" V. Alajar of Davao City Public Library as this year recipient of the PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2013. Ms Alajar will receive her award together with the awardees from the other professions during the PRC Awards Nights on June 20, 2013 at the Manila Hotel.
The conferment of the PRC Outstanding award is a fitting testimonial & recognition of the sterling achievement and services rendered by a recently retired colleague who for 40 long years has served as City Librarian of the Davao City Public Library. Kudos Mam Bing!

PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2009
Prof. Candida C. Agcaoili (1,2,3) of UST and PLAI-NCRLC was chosen as the PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2009. She will receive her award together with the awardees from the other professions during the PRC Awards Night on June 19, 2009 at the Manila Hotel.
The Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is the award given by the Professional Regulation Commission to a registered librarian as recommended by peers and PLAI in due recognitaion of his/her exceptional professional competence, integrity, active membership in professional/national associations and involvement in socio-civic activities among other credentials worthy of emulation by other colleagues.

PRC Outstanding Librarian for 2008
The PAARL yahoogroups and Filipinolibrarian googlegroups are abuzz of congratulatory email messages to Ms. Lourdes T. David, Library Director of the Rizal Library of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and a senior lecturer of UP-SLIS for being chosen by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as this year recipient of the Outstanding Professional Librarian Award for 2008.
The PRC Outstanding Professional of the Year is the highest award given by the commission upon a professional as recommended by his or her peers for having demonstrated exceptional professional competence, integrity, and social responsibility through participation in socio-civic activities.
Ms. Lourdes David together with other recipients from other professions will receive their award during the PRC Awards Night on June 20, 2008 at the Manila Hotel.
