UPLSAA and Woohoo Learning Lab Workshop

We are teaming up with Woohoo Learning Lab to bring you the 2-day Workshop on e-Learning Tools for Collaborative Reference Services on December 4-5, 2017, and we invite highly creative and eager librarians to join us!

To keep a highly focused and productive workshop, we are opening this event to only 25 participants. To register:

2. Deposit your payment to PNB Account no. 393635900016 (Account name: University of the Philippines Library Science Association; Branch: UP Diliman Campus).

3. Go to uplsaa.org.ph/events/registration/public/ again and click LOGIN to update your account and reserve your slot by uploading a scanned copy of your deposit slip.

PNULISAA Seminar on Reference Management Platforms

Dear Colleagues:

The Philippine Normal University Library and Information Science Alumni Association (PNULISAA), Inc. in cooperation with De La Salle Philippines (DLSP) cordially invite you to a seminar entitled, “Reference Management Platforms: All Systems Go! A Holistic Approach to Modern Reference Service” to be held on May 8-9, 2014 at the De La Salle University Learning Commons, Taft Avenue, Manila.

The seminar specifically aims to:
  • Revisit the beginning of the reference service management platforms in libraries and its importance to the work of the librarians.
  • Provide an understanding of the proper selection and usage of reference service management platforms.
  • Introduce and update librarians with the modern reference service management platforms.
  • Help information professionals keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies which they can apply and adapt to their libraries and information centers.
  • Discuss examples and provide learning experiences in using different reference service management platforms.
A fee of Php2,000.00 will be charged to librarians for the registration, meals,  training kit, and certificate of participation/attendance.
A discounted rate of Php500.00 will be charged to undergraduate students inclusive of registration and certificate only (no meals and training kit will be provided). A valid school ID is required to avail of the discounted rate.

ALLPI Forum on November 16, 2012


Greetings of Peace!

The Association of Librarians In Laguna Province, Inc. (ALLPI) will be having a Forum on November 16, 2012 [Friday], entitled “Traditional and Technological Challenges towards Reference Service”. It will be held at the Center for Learning and Information Resources (CLIR) of Malayan College Laguna, Pulo Diezmo Road, Cabuyao Laguna from 7:00 a.m. -12:00 noon.

The objectives of the forum are as follows: (1) help the Reference Librarians, Library Staff and BLIS students in the efficient and effective ways of delivering reference service; (2) provide better understanding on reference service through sharing of actual experiences, current methods, strategies, trends and issues in reference service; and (3) reflect on Librarians’ Code of Ethics with emphasis on work values and behavior in reference service.

A forum fee of Three Hundred Fifty pesos (Php 350.00) will cover the certificates and snacks. Registration starts at 7:00am at the venue.
