A total of 40 research papers were presented in 5 simultaneous parallel session in the afternoon session while the morning session was devoted to the opening program and plenary talks of the two resource speakers.
Permission to post the power point presentations of the two plenary resource speakers were granted for the information of other stakeholders in our institution who were not able to attend said forum and to jump start the "research culture" being envision by NOCEI.
Dr. Normita A. Villa, SVP for Academics and Research of First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) talked about the "Emerging Roles of Universities and their Implications for Research" while Dr. Renato C. De Castro, Associate Professor of the Department of International Studies of the College of Liberal Arts of De La Salle Univeristy (DLSU) talked about "Academic Publishing : Challenges and Opportunities".
As librarians, who are the predominant viewers of this site, we must be attuned to what our faculty colleagues are doing in order to proactively anticipate their information requirements and as "Research in Librarianship" is also actively encouraged in our own community, we may learn a thing or two from the power point presentations
Note: Posted with permission from Dr. Normita A. Villa and Dr. Renato C. De Castro.

Many institutions limit access to their online information. Making this information available will be an asset to all.
