TESDA Librarians Attending PLAI Congress 2018

TESDA is sending 11 of its school librarians
to attend the PLAI Congress 2018.

ALAP 46th Founding Anniversary Forum

Happening now: ALAP forum on Data Privacy @ UPOU

Attended the ALAP forum on Data Privacy @ UPOU Los Banos today and learned from the remarks of the representative of the UPOU Administration that ongoing in the campus is the building of an international convention center with housing facilities. It is expected to be completed by 2019 or early of 2020. I still need to verify the seating capacity of this new convention center in our locality or region. Suffice to say for now that for STRLC future events, we have a new possible venue ... as to hosting future PLAI Congress, we need additional info as to seating and accommodation facilities of the new convention center.

Book Review : 2 Filipiniana Books

In the Philippine Star news today, a book review in the column of Elfren S. Cruz mentioned two (2) "Philippine published books that are great readings". A possible worthy addition to our library Filipiniana collection.

EXCERPTS:

I have rediscovered these past few days that long weekends are great for reading books; and, that there are still so many Philippine published books that are great readings. Here are two discoveries on my reading journey during the recent Undas holidays.

LINEAGE, VISION, EMPIRE: Don Francisco “Paquito” Ortigas Jr. by Alfredo Yuson, Reyes Publishing 2018 .

OCCUPATION: 1942-1945 by Benito Legarda Jr., published by Vibal Foundation, 2016.
