On the 10th year anniversary of
PLAI-Southern Tagalog Region Librarians Council’s, four (4) pillars
of the library profession in the country have been honored, namely: (1) Prof.
Corazon M. Nera, Library Director of Lyceum University; (2) Mrs. Anna Maria B. Fresnido, Director, De la Salle– Taft; (3) Mrs. Fe Angela Ma. Versoza, Retired
Archivist , De La Salle-Taft; and (4)
Prof. Lourdes T. David, a member of the BFL and Library Consultant, Rizal Library, Ateneo De Manila
University.
The awardees were honored with a “Special Service Award” in recognition of their dedicated, devoted and valuable services rendered as resource person in a number of times in any Council seminar, conferences, fora held thru the years; for their
continued support to the ideals, principles and activities of the Regional Council. It is therefore, fitting and proper to recognize
these four women of integrity, expertise, professionalism and unselfish
dedication in the practice of the librarianship profession during the Council 10th year anniversary celebration and National Conference with the theme : "The Next Generation Library Managers: Bringing our the Best Leaders in Library and Information Science Profession which was held last July 30-31, 2014 at Camp Allen, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
Other awardees honored & contribution recognized during the same occasion were former presidents of the various organized/affiliated Provincial Chapters of STRLC (CLASS, ALLPI, LAQuep,PI, LAB, RLA, OMLA, PLA, MLA), for their notable and exemplary contribution to the steady growth of the Provincial Chapter in particular, the STRLC and PLAI in general.
