AASDI Forum @ MIBF 2018 : Libraries as Safe Spaces

AASDI is inviting everyone to attend our Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) 2018 Forum on "Libraries as Safe Spaces : Enhancing Library Service in Support of Users with Psychosocial Issues." 

The resource speakers are Ms. Maria Teresita F. Mendoza and Ms. Maria Teresita Rapadas from the UPD Office of Counseling and Guidance.

AASDI Seminar on Innovation


The Asosasyon ng Aklatan at Sinupan ng Diliman, Inc. (AASDI) invites you to participate in the “Seminar on Innovations in Library Technology, Communication, Resources, and Services.” to be held on 11 – 13 October 2017 at the Diamond Suites and Residences, No. 8 Apitong Cor. Escario Street, Cebu City, Philippines.

We have invited known personalities in their profession to share their expertise. The Seminar seeks to: 
1) improve competency in new technologies in the LIS profession; 2) acquire and apply knowledge and skills to effectively utilize social media applications in libraries; 3) help market library services; 4) enable the librarians and other professional staff to effectively implement copyright laws and policies to properly access and service copyrighted publications; and 5) improve interpersonal relations between library managers and staff.

AASDI : Capacity Building Seminar on Scholarly Research and ICT Innovations

The Asosasyon ng Aklatan at Sinupan ng Diliman, Inc. (AASDI) invites you to participate in a Seminar entitled “Capacity Building Seminar on Scholarly Research and ICT Innovations” to be held on 19 – 23 April 2016 at the Asturias Hotel, South National Highway, Tiniguiban Heights, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

We have invited known personalities in their profession to share their expertise. The Seminar seeks to: 1) help the participants understand basic principles of research; 2) identify various approaches to research and determine appropriate methodologies; 3) be familiar with the research and publication process; 4) learn best practices in writing and publishing scholarly research; 5) improve competency in new and pertinent technologies in the LIS profession, and; 6) design and develop new library programs using ICT.

Training-Workshop on Digitization and Digital Preservation for Wider Access

Dear Colleagues:

The Asosasyon ng Aklatan at Sinupan ng Diliman, Inc. (AASDI) in partnership with the University Library, University of the Philippines invite you to participate in a Training-Workshop entitled Digitization and Digital Preservation for Wider Access to be held on 20-22 May 2015 at the Main Library, Gonzalez Hall, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.

The main objective of the Training-Workshop is to provide participants with the means to move beyond theoretical understanding to implementation strategies adhering to the current and emerging standards, best practices, and sound decision-making in planning and implementing digitization projects.

Specifically, this training-workshop aims to enable the participants to:

1. Understand the basic concepts of digitization and digital preservation;
2. Know the different hardware and software used for image capture, image processing, storage, preservation, and retrieval;
3. Make good choices and to initiate successful digital imaging and digitization programs at their home institutions;
4. Define and design a low cost digitization project; and
5. Implement digitization projects and establish institutional repositories.

Registration fee is Php 5,000.00 (inclusive of meals, kit, and certificate). Interested participants may reserve a slot and pre-register at http://tinyurl.com/o62wf2t.
