Survey of LIS Schools in the Philippines
DIRECTORY OF L.I.S. SCHOOLS IN THE PHILIPPINES
The survey aims to gather data on schools offering LIS in the Philippines and their addresses, dean/course coordinator and their contact details, and number of students and faculty. The data will be used to come up with the comprehensive and updated directory of LIS schools in the country. I have consolidated the initial list of LIS schools (n =161) available in the Internet (from PAARL Wiki, PRC Performance of Schools in LLE etc). The consolidated list might be outdated (may include schools not offering LIS anymore). Kindly inform me of any corrections, such as changes in the name of school, name of schools NOT offering LIS anymore, name of schools NOW offering LIS etc.
If you are the dean or coordinator or faculty any of the schools included, kindly fill up (completely if possible) the needed data. If you are an alumnus/alumna or student, kindly forward this to you (former) teacher/coordinator/dean.
I would appreciate your cooperation in this survey.
Thank you,
Stephen Alayon

LLE Survey
Dear all,
The Board for Librarians have been receiving a lot of requests from non-BLIS graduates for them to be allowed to take the Librarians' Licensure Exam (LLE). As you perhaps know, RA 9246 states that only BLIS and MLIS degree holders are qualified to take the LLE, except for repeaters. In view of these, we would like to know how librarians feel about this restriction. Kindly participate in the survey that we are conducting at this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/96P79SN The survey consists of only a few questions. It won't take 3 minutes to finish this.
Source: email posted earlier in the paarlyahoogroups and subsequent email requesting various library association to disseminate to members.

Colleagues,
Let us participate in the survey and let the majority opinion prevails, and serves as guide for concrete course of action by the members of BFL. Survey is until August 15, 2011. Thanks.
