ASLP's 7th National Congress
The main objective of this congress is to explicate the frameworks, approaches and technologies in digital preservation of cultural heritage and organizational memory. Specifically, it aims (1) to equip the librarians and information professionals with the technical know-how in establishing digital archives; (2) to discuss the methods and benefits of digital curation of heritage and organizational memory; (3) to introduce innovative and trend-setting forms of collection-based digital archives and (4) to gauge an understanding on data privacy and ethical considerations in accessing the digital archives.

ASLP #ModelLibrarian Stories Project
Are you an ASLP-member librarian who's making a difference in your workplace and community?
Be part of 2017 Humans of #ASLP - #ModelLibrarian stories project.
We’re looking for an ASLP #ModelLibrarian who can be an inspiration to the ASLP community through his/her success stories, positivity, and overcoming challenges in the workplace and in the community as librarian/information professional.
Qualifications:
1. Be a current member of ASLP
2. Candidate should reside and work in the Philippines
Nominations:
1. Self-nominations are encouraged and/or nominate your fellow ASLP member-librarian/information professional.
2. Send your success story to us including your brief bio, professional career and activities at aslplibrarians@gmail.com with a subject: #ModelLibrarian
3. All nomination should be in the ff. format: Arial, size 12, color black font, .doc file.
4. Please be informed that ASLP committee will review and select your story to be featured in our ASLP social media and newsletter monthly/quarterly.
5. At the end of this year, ASLP committee will compile all the nominations and we will encourage the community to support the nominees by voting for their favorite ASLP Humans of #ASLP stories. The People’s choice will be given a special award.

ASLP Seminar : Managing Modern Libraries
The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) will hold a seminar with the theme “Managing modern libraries: leadership and sustainability using technology and innovation” from May 20-22, 2015 at Sugarland Hotel, Araneta Ave.Bacolod, Negros Occidental
The main objective of this seminar is to learn how to effectively manage modern libraries. It specifically aims to analyze significant issues in managing modern libraries; present how to address these issues through modern leadership techniques, suitable human resources handling methods, sunshine customer service, creative marketing strategies and effective communication skills; and discuss the role of technology and innovation in leading and sustaining modern libraries.
Librarians, library administrators, information professionals, support staff, teachers and students of Library & Information Science, consultants and other information professionals are invited to attend the said seminar.
